I know the big JDJ calibers are great, but I want something in a 10" barrel length for deer, caribou, black bear, and possibly moose? I do have a .300 Whisper, and love it, but wondering if there is anything better? Thanks for your help! Dennis e-mail at dmadriaga@ascg.com

Possibly the .445 Supermag? Great round with 300 - 340 grain bullets.

I picked up a factory .45 Colt barrel.

I've been working on loads for the 335 grain Cast Performance bullet using H110 or LIL'GUN.

The throat is a bit long, but that is handy for seating this long bullet far out. I'm getting good accuracy. This bullet, with careful work to find a maximum load, will for sure deliver the goods. More exotic than .44 magnum, which is so common and ordinary, it is a shame how good a round the common .44 mag is!
