I ordered one of these from my LGS last week and was finally able to get home from work and pick it up today. Overall so far I'm satisfied with my pistol. The only complaint I have right now is that the grips were fitted POORLY from the factory. Purely cosmetic and will not affect accuracy but a gun that costs $800+ shouldn't have this issue IMO. Ok I'm off my soapbox and on to the good stuff. Other than the grips the rest of this thing has superb fit and finish. The trigger is so sweet I doubt I'll even try to improve it. The pull is nice and light with a clean break and zero overtravel. No grittiness either that I can feel. I'm hoping to shoot it in a day or 2 and I'll report back with the results. I'll post up some pics of this beast as soon as I figure out how to do it. To be continued after I shoot it....

I just recently purchased a 7.5" barreled .475 Linebaugh BFR and my grips are similar in fit to yours. Agreed that's a bummer! I wonder what Magnum Research would say about this... May have to check in with them!

And those looking for one of these in .44 Mag with same barrel length as OP, I noticed the Cabela's in Rogers, MN has one for sale, new, for I believe $899.

For the price point I am willing to forgive the fit and finish. Particularly if they are able to shoot accurately.

I got mine for $870 OTD. The grips are purely cosmetic and will not affect the accuracy of the gun or lack of by the operator. Still haven't got to shoot it yet but have been doing some dry fire practice in anticipation of getting to shoot it in a day or 2. Something I've noticed on a lot of pics I've seen the last few days it seems there are a lot of BFR's with gaps in the grip. I wonder if it's because they are made for super blackhawks and the BFR is slightly larger? Can anyone offer advice on some wood grips for these? Will super Blackhawk grips fit?

Agreed and mine is perfect other than the rubber grip being off a bit. This thing is built like a tank and just screams accuracy. I never realized they have a recessed target crown on the barrel but was quite pleased to see that.

Did you try shoving the grips on farther?

I did but couldn't get them to fit any better.than the guy at the factory. No biggie. I finally got to shoot it today and it was quite accurate for my son. I couldn't hit where I was aiming to save my life. All my shots were low and left. I think the grip shape isn't agreeing with me. I was right on with my 1911, SRH 480 ruger and my 45 colt blackhawk. I need more trigger time with it for sure. My groups were nice and tight even though they were all low and left. All in all it was a great day at the range with my son.

The profile of the back strap is just a little different than the Super Black Hawk.
I put a Houge Monogrip on my 475, it needed a little work with the dremmel as the area next to the trigger gaurd is a little different also.
For my 500JRH I went with the Factory black micarta grips. They needed very little fitting and look great. They are abit on the fat side.
