I was wondering what the big difference between these two are? They have different sights, same mag capacity, are within an ounce of eachother's weight, and same length barrel but are ~$150 different in price. Is the full size a better gun? more robust? I'm trying to decide which one I should get. Advise from the handgun gurus would be a great help as this will be my first handgun and the guy at the store was less than knowledgeable. Carl

A Gun that cost $800.00 such as a Kimber Classic stainless that I now use will not need much if any to make an excellent shooter and will resale for close to purchase price. A Gun bought for $400.00 with $600.00 will resale for purchase price close to $400.00. Money spent on up-grading a 45 will be lost on resale if you are trading with a dealer. I have done both and learned the hard way to save and buy the best you can the first time. Not saying I have anything against mill-spec 45s.

I agree with Swede44mag. Buy the nicest Springfield 1911 you can afford. There is a big difference between a budget, out of the box 1911 and one with some additional features and more care taken in assembly. The more you spend up front the happier you will be.
