Hunter seem to be a little better than the average blackhawk.
296 works great for the 44.
I use CCI 350 large pistol mag primer and they seem to work better for me than standards.
Yes the Bisley hunter is available - may have to search awhile to find one.

I like the Bisley hammer.

Yes, the SBH Hunter looks to be a fine revolver. I very much like my .44 Mag Bisley. Especially after doing some customizing to it. As for primers, magnum primers work better for me when using 296; standards give me better accuracy when loading 2400. It just gets down to finding out what an individual firearm likes and dislikes. Every one is a law unto itself.

Hey guys, I was just parousing Ruger's website, and stumbled on this little beauty. I just held my dad's Ruger Bisley Blackhawk in .357 a couple of minutes ago, and I loved how it handled. Now, what do you guys think about the bisley hunter? I know no one has used one yet, becuase they arent available, but how do super blackhawk hunters perform? I have heard that blackhawks like WIn 296 with the .44 Mag cartridge, which is what i would get. I have Win 296 already, and i have reloading dies. All I would need are bullets and powder. I would probably go with something like a 280ish grain bullet and I have heard that standard large pistol primers are more accurate with the .44 Mag. Is this true?

I wouldn't own a single action revolver if Ruger hadn't introduced the Bisley grip shape. The SAA plowhandle just doesn't feel right in my hand and when my eyes were sharper I had no use for the Super Blackhawk Hunter's scope mount cuts. My 45 Colt Bisley Blackhawk has made some venison for me with several shots out to around 50 yards. As my eyes continure to age the appeal of revolver wearing a scope is beginning to increase so the Bisley Blackhawk Hunter seems like a better and better idea... Good hunting!

My 44 SBH seems to like W296 but prefers H110. If your looking for a top quality hunting bullet, try the Swift A-Frame. Although they are quite pricey, the performace is outstanding on everything I hunt, which really doesnt get bigger than 300 pound hogs.
