Does velocity have any affect on killing power?

Sure it does BUT it isn't the only factor in the process of killing. Without velocity you have no penetration. To low not enough to much and depending on POI and bullet construction you may get surface failure. The easiest way to look at this is to take two 250g bullets one fired from a handgun the other from a 338WinMag. The handgun bullet has a muzzle velocity less than half of the 338WinMag at 100 yards. Do they both kill sure do If you use them the way that are designed to be used. I shot 250g bullets at 1100-1200fps from a .41RemMag at all kinds and sizes of animals at 30-67 yards they all died. I also shot that 338WinMag out to 150 yards those animals died also. So what is the crux of your question? Love Those .41s'

Gee, I don't know. Why don't you stand in front of a Dodge 2500 going 5 MPH and then stand in front of the same Dodge going 60 MPH and report back to us. Be sure to take a video of that. Many of us would like to see that experimant. ______________________ Age and Treachery Will Always Overcome Youth and Skill
