I have been loking off and on for a Ruger Super Redhawk. A .44mag would probably be good enough for anything I will do, but I figure more is better.
I came across a SRH in .480 Ruger. How does it compare to the .44mag and .454 casull?
If I remember correctly it is more powerful than the Casull.

The SRH I found for sale seems cheap and the seller has 0 posts on that forum, so I am not sure yet about the deal. He hasn't posted pics yet either.
This SRH has a 7.5" barrel and comes with a reddot scope, aftermarket and original grips.

Thanks,
Jim

Nevermind. I did a search here and it looks like the .480 is more than I need.

Jim, it's more than a .454 without the recoil......it's a great round and a wise choice......JMHO.

.454 - .480 = .026 There you have it the 480 is superior

if you went with a 44 i applaud you. Not to many people anymore will admit to even themselves that theres a limit to what they can handle.

or what they really need.

This is true and that is why the .45 Colt is such an attractive option..... But, I do love my .44s I must say.

I'm a recoil wimp thats why the 45LC out of my Rugers is enough for me!!
I also like a light trigger so I don't jerk. I love my muzzleloaders and my Sharps because of the set trigger. The lighter the better!!
Even on hunting guns I like a hair trigger!!!!
It a problem that I have and a hair trigger is how I defeat it, don't touch it till I want it to fire.
