Does anyone of this board have any experience using a vaquero for hunting? If so,would you share your results?

It's simply a blackhawk with fixed sights.Point of impact versus point of aim varies among different pieces,as well as different shooters so it all depends.

I had a scope base mounted by a good smith, and I use mine all the time. Great gun.

It's not the only gun I use, but my 7 1/2" Vaquero .44 Magnum is a proven deer-getter. Other than painting the edge of the front sight blaze-orange, I left the outside of the gun "as-issue." Now, the inside is another story: I bought a packet of parts and changed the trigger-pull so it was more managable, which was a great improvement.

Pick a load and shoot up plenty in practice, and Bambi stands little chance..... : : :
