Love to hear any experiences handgunning for blackbuck: where, with what, how much, etc. Hope to do her in 2009. There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author

I've hunted them in the La Pampa region of Argentina, on the Estancia La Corona, where they were introduced in 1912, and on the Hatch ranch (next to the YO) in Texas. I found them to have excellent eyesight, much like our own Pronghorn, and to be very, very wary. I've used the .308 Win., the .309 JDJ, and the .375 JDJ, but many lighter calibers will work quite well, as they are not difficult to kill, weighing much less than 100 lbs. Mine have all been taken @ 125-175 yds.

Thanks Ken. I'm thinking my .257 JDJ would work fine on these guys, if not the old classic .30 Herrett. Argentina would be a hoot. Any handgun legal issues there? There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author

Handguns are no problem in Argentina, I've hunted with them twice there. The .257 JDJ is perfect for Blackbuck.
