I've got a Competitor Pistol in .44 mag with 23" barrel ( I'm in the UK and it's one of the few handguns they'll let us have) the thing weighs 6 1/4 lbs and I'm having some issues trying to shoot it off hand? Any tips? For the record, I've fitted a hogue slip on grip and a x2.5 scope and from a bench it group nice tight one hole groups slightly larger than .44". Just want to know of any training techniques anyone uses for the slightly larger than average pistol? The only thing I can think of right now is that some of the female silhouette shooters adopted a technique of using the weak hand to hold their Contenders at the forearm of the handgun. This may or may not help or you may have already tried this. If ignorance is bliss; there are some blissful sonofaguns around here. We know who you are, so no reason to point yourselves out.

Good luck,I would get a set of shooting sticks. This is the same problem I had with the SW 500-10.5PC gun to stinking long/big. Sean

I'm going to try shooting tonight with my weight training gloves on as they have built in wrist supports it might help? I've tried holding the forearm of the stock and it doesn't really help, going to focus on my two handed hold. Either left hand wrapped around the right or cupping the bottom of the grip, don't know the technical terms for them. I'm also going to practise dry firing more as well, doing that seems to be helping with stopping me pulling the gun to left when I squeeze the trigger. I was thinking of getting a set of sticks as well, are there any recommendations?
