ruger270Weaver 2x28 scope
Is anybody using this scope on a handgun? I am finding conflicting information on the eye relief for the scope. Some sources say 4-29" and others say 14-29". Would one of you, who has the scope, tell me what kind of sight picture you get with the scope 5 to 6" from the eye? I am hoping to find a good low powered scope that works at that distance for my Ruger #1.
Thanks,
Jesse

MS HitmanI have a K2.5 on my .458 WM Ruger. Why are you looking at a handgun scope for a No.1?

ruger270To get the scope 6" away from my face so that I can clear the loading port. On most Ruger #1's the scope is so far back that the loading and unloading is hindered.

Paul HGet a leupold 2.5x compact rifle scope. It has 5" of eye relief.

MS HitmanOkay, fair enough. I suggest you look at intermediate eye relief scopes; the handgun scopes may have too much of a good thing.

vinnygFor the money I’ve found that the Weaver 2x28 Scope is excellent on my handgun,
However from curiosity of your request I measured the sight distance of full view.
From my eye (1 inch almost black out) until it came into to full view at 9 3/4 to 10 inches then clear out to full arms length.
Hope that helps you
