I recently bought some Hogue grips. Contrary to what I concluded from the lecture of the accompanying leaflet, the blister packages included stirrups + screws but no stirrup pins. This posed no problem with my S&W handguns since the stirrup attached to the existing - and correctly located - frame pins. However, the Colt Python having its grip pin in the corner of the frame, my question is : did my original Hogue package lack the advertised stirrup pin or am I supposed to remove and use the factory Colt pin ?

Hi Andr,

I don't know if that could help you but I have found smth for Colt with the Monogrip.

COLT KING COBRA/ ANACONDA FRAME INSTRUCTIONS

With King Cobra/ Anaconda frames it is necessary to spread the grip to go over the protruding sideplate screws. Spread only slightly, just enough to clear the screws. Once the grip is seated fully, the sides will come together to sit flush with the gun frame. {Fig.}

MK I A - 108 FRAME INSTRUCTIONS

For late model MK I A - 108 frames without bolt stop lever, it is recommended to install the enclosed shim into the left grip panel as shown. This will eliminate any "drifting" of the frame pin.{Fig.}

I hope, Pal, this can help you.

Thanks for caring Bernard but the Python sports the old intermediary "I" frame with "V" mainspring and is different from the later coil spring frames. I succeeded in installing the grip by turning a pin to fit the stirrup. However I feel kind of cheated if the factory pin was missing in the Hogue blister (it's all in my head, I know but old f**** never die...).

Hi Andr,

I have had similar problem with my grip on my Desert Eagle. I have used factory pin in place of Hogue one. And now my hogue grip on my Desert Eagle is perfect.

Hi Andre. I don't know if you got my emails or not, but after inspection of my Python, yes the grips should have come with the stirrup and the pin. If they didn't, call 'em up and bitch. - Dan
