I have a 71/2 barrel with target grey finish that I would like to find out what the value is.
The gun is 99% or better and has all papers, plastic box and gun lock. Thanks

In my personal opinion, that's very generous for what you get.

MS,

I'm shocked, I thought you were a huge fan of the Ruger SRH's Eeker

As far as what they go for, depends on where you live. I'd imagine you could get $500 but might take some time, the closer you price it to $400 the faster you'll sell it.

No sir!

I love my Bisleys and my Mag-Na_port conversions on the SBH, but I wouldn't give fifty cents for another SRH in .454. Been there and don't want no more.

Paul is right in that you should be able to easily unload it in the 400 to 500 dollar range. I'm quite happy with both of my SRHs (.480 and .454)......

Ruger Super Redhawks aren't that comfortable to shoot I've tried it and the 480, never again, left my hand stinging and tingling.

I got one in 480 Ruger for my birthday.I didn't have any reloads, just factory Hornady in 400 grain.
After sending a few downrange I had to set the revolver down for a rest.My right hand felt as if I had been stopping the swing of a baseball bat. Frowner
A friend showed up with his 480 and let me try some of his reloads.Thank God.Loaded down, they are almost, again, almost pleasant to shoot.
I bought me a set of dies and bullets in 325,400 grains.
The smartest thing I purchased was a pair of Uncle Mikes shooting gloves with the Gel-Pak inserts.
I want to try this caliber in a BFR or Super Blackhawk.I love the power, just not at both ends.

If the regular Redhawk feels anything like the Super Redhawk, I want nothing to do with it either. That is the most uncomfortable 44mag I've ever shot. The trigger feels like it's going to cut my finger off after each shot. Maybe it's just my hand, but either way, I really do not like it!! thumbdown

I love my 480,but I have big hands after about
60 rounds my hand gets tingly but nothing
gloves didnt cure.Havent tried the 454, dont really know anyone with a 454 in SRH.
But would like to try one for my own
personal gain I guess.
If I had been into handguns more I would have opted for the 454 instead of the 480.

I add Hogue rubber grips to my Ruger Blackhawks in 45lc and 41 mag to cushion the recoil from Corbon ammo.If anyone in the S. Cal area wants to try out rifles, handguns or shotguns keep the dates of June 2,3,& 4 in mind for the Raahauges Shooting Sports Fair located at 14995 River Rd in Corona,CA for a nominal entrance fee and nominal ammo fees you can try out the latest new weapons http://www.raahauges.com click on sport fair.Ruger will be there plus more.

It's not the recoil that bothers me, but the fact that I've handled two and they were both a piece of crap. Mine was so bad I spent some extra money to have it worked on to a point I was comfortable selling it. After the dust had settled, I could have bought a Freedom Arms in the first place and been done with it.

Ruger makes a good single action revolver, I can't say the same for their double action attempts.

This is my opinion. If anyone's differs bully for you.

The SRH and RH grips are totally different, and fealt recoil is totally different. I've fired a 44 mag rh, and it brutalized the web of my hand.

I haven't handled many SRH's, two 454's and two 480's I put enough lead downrange to form an opinion, and I know of several other folks that have both chamberings.

From my experience, the 454's had gritier fealing lockwork than the 480's, and note both the 480's were some of the first made. Ruger tries to use as many parts as cast with minimal machining to cut down costs. Most folks are happy with the results, others aren't. If you expect the fit and finish of a Freedom Arms, then pony up the $2k it takes to produce such a gun.

Accuracy from all the SRH's I've shot, and reports from others indicate with a scope and a steady hand, 2-3" at 50 yds is to be expected, and fine tuning loads should bring those down to around 1". They may be better than that, I simply can't shoot any better than that.

Everyone's hands are shaped differently, and a grip that is perfection to one, is a nightmare to another. I've always preferred the look and feel if a good single action. I've fired many, many super blackhawks and bisleys. For whatever reason, I cannot shoot them well due to my hands. I think the SRH is an azz ugly gun. That said, the gun really works in my hands, and shoots better than I can. I can live with ugly if it works, and my SRH really works for me.

For the money, I have yet to find a better gun than the SRH for handgun hunting, and feel the 480 offers enough power for anything I'd take w/ a handgun, at the level of recoil I can handle.

I'd dearly love a Freedom mdl 83 premier w/ 6" octagon barrel with both 480 and 475 cylinders. It is my idea or perfection in a handgun, but I can't afford one as yet.

I cant afford a FA either but they are pretty to look at. How about the BFR's?
I have been looking at one in 475/480 and was wanting opinions about them.

TThe 480 can easily be fired in a 475 cylender
