[Morning has always been one of my least favorite times to hunt,but for some reason this year,seeing deer hasn't been a problem.This morning started off a little on the chilly side and the atv ride in didn't help.I made sure I got my youngsters situated and headed off to my stand.In the darkness I saw a deer ease off into the cover with very little more excitement taking place.I decided to get down and ease around the general location to look for any new activity.While easing along I caught a shape cutting through through a newly cut fifth row and froze.As I continued to look and listen I heard a deer easing around through the thick stuff.I found the closest tree and squated down.Sure enough around the curve out popped a large doe.After some cat and mouse games through the sparse vegitation,she had spent enough time trying to figure out what had spooked her,and I had seen enough to know she was an older doe,she eased up the path to enter the woods.As she eased behind a few pine branches I stood up beside the tree and took a leaning rest.I settled my sights,took a deep breath,and got my trigger finger ready.She stopped at the edge to stare me down unknowing my intentions.When all seemed right I gently pulled on the trigger and BLAM!!! I heard the .453 wfn cast slap her,as she got her feet under her she took about three big leaps off into the newly thinned timber and crashed.Then I just sit back and enjoyed the show.The youngsters returned a few favors.They drug my deer out hung it up and helped me get it all squared away.Here's a few pics from todays adventures

Good job!

If ignorance is bliss; there are some blissful sonofaguns around here. We know who you are, so no reason to point yourselves out.

I suspect that hard cast were at work again. Those things are junk, all they do is kill game every shot

Bfrshooter;

About having bearers:

I do it easy. Went out yesterday afternoon and shot a doe with my bow. She dropped right in front of Whitworth's stand. I drove my little utility wagon right to her, tossed her in back and went home.
Monday is gun season so we will be out with revolvers. I can't wait to see what Whitworth's .500 JRH does.
