depends on what your looking for. Of the big ones i prefer the .500 it just seems to hit things harder. I do like my .475 though as its probably my most accurate handgun. To me a 5 shot .45 is kind of a waste. Your not going to gain much pushing cast bullets over 1300fps and in most cases it will acutaully produce less penetration on game. Its the main reason i dont have much use for a .454. One thing to consider is having him build you a 6 shot .45 for an all around gun it would be hard to beat. It will push 320s to 1400fps and believe me that will put a hurt on anything. Another advantage to it is Johns prices on 6 shot guns is substaintialy less the the 5 shot guns and a big bonus is that the turn around time to get one from him is about half the time as a 5 shot.

Well these are reasons i decided i'm doing a 475 linebaugh by his company. All of the info came from his website www.sixgunner.com/linebaugh The 500 Linebaugh is the top end of the packable, practical big bore punch in a handgun In the punch department it's tops. Penetration is excellent and the 475 is the only revolver we have tested that will beat it.THE KNOCKOUT OF 500

What gun do you plan one using for your 475l? I have had John and his son do some small jobs and have been happy with their work. I wish he would up date his web site to show his work. A Ruger with a 5 1/2 inch banded barrel looks great.

No thanks moki,

Been there and don't want to do it anymore. My experiences with the .454 Super Redhawk has soured me off of buying another Ruger double action revolver. Now, their single actions are a different story...

MS -- what was it that soured you on Super Redhawks? I have two -- one in .454 and the other in .480 Ruger and have been quite pleased with the way they shoot. Just curious.
