I was wondering if anyone here has used a 45LC revolver on big game with any success. I have used other handguns in various calibers but am thinking of trying a new one this year and trying to see what luck others had and with what type of loads. Thanks, Ignore your rights and they will go away!

Yes, yes, yes! I have the old Vaquero and load a 335 gr LBT with 21.5 gr's of 296, Fed 150 primer and have taken a lot of deer with it. One was dropped stone dead, offhand at 100 yd's. The others have been 20 to 50 yd's. If you have the new, smaller one, lighten the boolit and load. It will still do the trick. I have trouble seeing the sights when it is dim out but they are really better then the adjustable sights for me. The above load has shot quit a few 1" groups at 75 yd's and the Lyman 452651 shoots the same with the same load. I had to ream the throats because they were too small. The .45 is GREAT!

I have several Bisley Rugers, 7.5", and 5.5" and I use the LBT 325LFN plain base with 21.5 of 296 in Federal brass. I use this bullet because it seems to shoot better in my guns. I have taken several decent deer, many doe and there is not a pig on this planet that can stop the bullet. I like the Bisley Vaqueros as well I have one in 5.5" and the front sight required a little modification but excellent holster gun with immense power in a small package. I had a Bowen 5-shot I sold to a friend. The six shots are excellent. My .44's don't see much use. gduffey

I've used my Ruger Bisley Blackhawk 45 Colt 7-1/2 inch on whitetail with excellent results. A heavy LBT and a book max charge of H110 works great for me. Have fun.
