After an unsuccessful deer hunt (at least for me ) this morning, bfrshooter and I chronographed some factory ammo in .44 magnum, .454 Casull, .480 Ruger and .475 Linebaugh. We did it for our own amusement and not to really draw any conclusions. All .475 ammo was shot through my Huntington .475 SRH and the .480 ammo was shot through a .480 SRH -- both equipped with 7.5-inch barrels. .480 Ruger -- Buffalo Bore 410 grain WFN -1181 fps -1172 fps -1186 fps .475 Linebaugh -- Hornady 400 grain JHP -1244 fps -1232 fps .475 Linebaugh -- Buffalo Bore 420 grain LFN -1361 fps -1351 fps .475 Linebaugh -- Buffalo Bore 440 grain WFN -1338 fps -1338 fps -1337 fps -1343 fps Had planned on testing a slew of .454 Casull loads as well, but we had soem chrono trouble and we burned up some ammo trying to trouble shoot. Also shot some .44 mag and .454 Casull: .44 magnum -- Double Tap 320 grain WFN (6.5-inch M29) -1161 fps -1174 fps -1153 fps .454 Casull -- Winchester 300 grain JSP (7.5-inch SRH) -1611 fps -1595 fps -1525 fps Just thought you might find some of this info interesting and/or amusing. My hand is sore.... Oh, and it was in the low-to-mid 30 degrees F this afternoon........ "Ignorance you can correct, you can't fix stupid." Maybe some of you can make a suggestion for a defuser. I think it is the light that keeps my Pact from picking up a lot of shots. Drives me nuts when there are only a few loads to test and they are wasted.

By the way, the BB 440 gr had the lowest SD and ES of any load I have ever seen. Granted we didn't have a lot to try but they were amazing for the few shot.
