I am looking for a new revolver and have decided that I want a stainless steel redhawk with a 7.5" barrel in 44 mag. A local pawnshop that I've done previous business with has this exact revolver, slightly used and is asking $595 for it, relativley firm on that price. My question is: is that a fair price for a slightly used redhawk? I have looked at the auction sites online and found many redhawks like I described here that may cost a little less, but I figure I'd make up the difference paying shipping. Could I get some feedback on this please?

Thanks in advance,

Jason

I would have a number of questions:

1. How do you know it's slightly used?
2. Does it come with scope or rings?
3. Is it the newer model with integral scope mount cutouts in the barrel?

If it is slightly used and has the integral scope mounts, I would put the value at perhaps $450. If there were extras, it would be worth a little more.

If you're not in a huge hurry, look at Gunbroker.com auctions for awhile. Some good deals show up there on occasion.

The 44 RH is the least expensive of the four calibers. I am close to Houston, and 44 Mag Redhawks are very common. They typically go for $350-$375 at the gun shows. Some will be more than that, but there will usually be a couple dozen at a given show, so the buyer has some bargaining power.

I think the pawn shop is way over the top. If they have over $200 in the RH I would be quite surprised.

My VERY LIGHTLY used Redhawk with 2X Leupold, 100 240 Remington HPs, 100 Rounds of brass and 200 Primers and an Uncle Mikes shoulder holster cost me 6 Bills.
This is private sale from someone I know that decided HG hunting was not for him after one year.

When one starts lopping off the cost of each of the accessory items I got with the gun and it is WAY below what you shop hasposted/wants. They do have to make a living and pay the rent in a shop though!

on average...375 - 425 in my area. As stated, look on gunbroker for awhile. Most often the shipping is 15 - 20 bucks and is offset by the retail state tax you would pay anyhow.

Thanks guys; I'll keep looking.

Does anyone know a good used gun outlet in Houston? I may be down that way next weekend and want to do some shopping around if I get down there.

Thanks all,

Jason
