I have a .243 Striker . Most any load will shoot 1 moa , and I haven't really tried to work up an accuracy load . As far as recoil goes , it is nothing that will hurt you , mostly muzzle climb . I imagine a .308 would be more of the same .

i have 1 in 223. i like the gun, hate the trigger. dumbest design i've ever seen! mine will hold 1/2 moa to 200yds with 50gr Noslers. left bolt right port is vary useful. ------------------

Hey Gone! Isn't there an aftermarket trigger for the Savage? If you are interested check Brownell's. ------------------

quote: not that i'm aware of for the Striker. the problem is the unreal slack in the roller/leaver that conects the trigger it self to the sear unit. looks like something Rube Goldberg dreamed ------------------

I shoot a Striker in .243 as well. It is awesome to use a rifle cartridge in a handgun zone for Deer. The aftermarket trigger for the Striker is made by RifleBasix......704-566-1939. My Striker is first generation, and I was able to adjust it myself. There are at least two generations of trigger assy. used, and it matters which you have and what adjusted "feel" you want it at. I never could get all the slop/travel out, and keep it safe. But they shoot better than I can hold. There are two ways to shoot it. Classic pistol w/ arms extended (poor, because of gunss weight, and the EER scope required ). The second method, is hold it like a rifle stock, w/ the elbows contacting your chest. I use a Simmons Aetec scope w/ 5" of eye-relief. Shooting sticks are another option I use....shooting rests are recommended to take advantage of the accuracy! Muzzle jump is the main recoil symptom, but a strong rear hand is needed, because this pistol WILL come straight back linearly. If I had it to do over again, I'd opt. for the 7mm-08 caliber. Then I could use bullets 120gr.- 175gr. Loads of FUN! Sparkman
