Does anyone have any field experience with the 250gr Nosler Partition in .44 RemMag? If so, how did the bullet perform and what load and velocity are you getting?

My niece shot a 150 to 175 lb pig at @ 30 yards with the 250 Partition in my Winchester 44 Mag Trapper. He dropped to the shot. He was hit just behind the shoulder. Bullet passed through. I have used the Speer 270 gr Gold Dot bullet out of a 4" 44 quite a bit on finishing shots on animals from pigs to Waterbuck. The only bullet I have recovered is one that hit a pig in the top of the head. It went through the head and was found under the skin at the back of the jaw. They go right through a pigs head from the side. If you want more penetration but still desire some expansion give these Speer 270's a try.

The bullets open up extremely fast. they do hold together, but do not penetrate as deep as the 270 grain gold dots. In performance on deer and smaller hogs it is great as far as jacketed bullets go. I would not use it on elk or moose.

David thanks for the info. I have been shooting Hornady XTPs with good results, but I am wanting a little more penetration.
