Look guys, it's time that we stopped this contant pissing and moaning and recognize EACH OTHER as independent, opinionated, stubborn sons-of-bitches who have our own personal likes and dislikes. bfrshooter and I have exchanged PM's and I don't know about him, but I was a bit surprised to find that we actually had more in common than we did in differences. But that's what the internet does to people. When we say things through a keyboard, there's no inflection or tone that can be interpreted other than the mood that the reader takes it in. The reader can't see the devilish grin or the smirk we intend and even the emoticons sometimes come across as insulting.

I've readily admitted that I'm NEW to handgun hunting, but I'm more than a bit familiar with handgun SHOOTING. That's why I want to be here on THIS forum and why I'd like to see it return to it's title. However, many of you are "reloaders" and "wildcaters" who have been the backbone of getting hand cannons to the level they are. If there wasn't some of that included, lots of great information would be lost.

But I'm SICK and TIRED of the pissing and moaning that inevitably happens between the Delaware Destroyers and the Gruesome Foursome. Since it's pretty obvious that we each have our own PERSONAL OPINIONS on issues, we need to respect the PERSONAL OPINIONS of each other. We don't have to AGREE on any of it, but the tendency to express our ideas as the ONLY viable alternatives leads to this cheap shot mentality (yep, I'm guilty but the rest of you are just as culpable). I'd really like to come on here to LEARN, but the tendency is to come on here looking for some reason to be pissed off. I don't know about the rest of you, but I have enough unavoidable misery in my life without creating more here.

So here it is. bfr and I have already made our attempt at peace. The first thing we both admitted was that we were protective of our friends. That being the case, in order for this to work, our friends have to sign on with us. Let's accept the fact that we each have "facts" that have worked for us. We need to also accept that these "facts" may be counter to someone else's experience. So when we come to a point where our "facts" clash with someone else's "facts", we just take the courtesy to PM the other person and EXPLAIN why our stance is so firm. As with bfr, we found that our "facts" tended to have some exceptions that PERHAPS did mean that we could see the other person's perspective even IF WE DIDN'T AGREE WITH IT. Each of us has a multitude of life experience that could benefit this entire group if we could ever exchange those ideas peacefully without trying to strangle the other dumb sonofabitch.

I'm not about to apologize for anything I said because at the time I said it, it was how I felt. I don't expect any of you to be any different. But does that mean we can't have a little peace here so that when I get up from the keyboard I'm not looking for a dog to kick?

Right on George! Just express your opinions and leave it at that.
If a poster asks a question, everyone post an answer and let him find out what works for him. It is now the original posters job to sort through and try stuff for himself.

I won't change anyones mind and don't intend to try. I only state my position as should everyone else so things can be tried, tested and evaluated by those that ask.

bfrshooter, I am on board. I spoke with George today. I told him I was about done with this area of the site. He told me about your PM's and told me to just calm down and move on. But yes I am on board.

Good on you gents! Thats how we should act. This is a great sight, and everyone should respect the opinions of others. Don't have to agree but it pays to show respect.
I don't have near the handguning experance as many here. Have shot a few big game animals, but I'm here to learn more. Education is always good. Pissing matches seldom win anyone over to your piont of veiw. They just seem to drive a wedge further between guys that might have been friends away from here in the hunting fields.

I got back yesterday from a business trip, and read this post upon my return. I have been mulling it over, and it is with some reluctance that I post. Why the reluctance? Because we have been through this before. We have a kumbaya moment, things are calm for a number of weeks, and then it starts all over again. I sometimes feel these "make-ups" are a bit disingenuous. But, that said, I am not one to not give the benefit of the doubt -- within reason. I allowed myself to stoop to new low-levels during our last dust-up, and frankly am not proud of some of the stuff I wrote. This is going to sound like I am falling just short of an apology, but I don't feel like I really started this mess, but I certainly aided in its escalation. I too would like to see this forum become the fun and informative place that it has been in the past and I am committed to making it that way within the constraints of my influence here.

Whitworth, you don't feel any different than any of us. That's why the "independent, opinionated, stubborn sons-of-bitches" remark was in there. People like us always know that it's the fault of the "other person" who creates the conflict. IF we can all admit the truth to OURSELVES first, then there's no need for conflict. BFRshooter and I have already talked about this in a PM and when you feel your gills starting to get a bit red, just stop for a second, regroup your thoughts, and send a PM out. It's better than flecking your bladder over the open forum where everyone thinks BOTH sides are idiots. And just like jb tried to do, recognize you're being baited and don't take it. It IS easy to hide behind a keyboard, but if we were talking in person, NONE of this would have ever occurred anyway. You can tell most people they're dumbasses to their faces without starting a fight as long as there's a smile on your face OR you explain YOUR position instead of attacking theirs.

Now we can fix this, or we can just sit and stew over it. I'm tired of stewing. I've already found out things about bfr that are amazing and he lied to me and implied the same thing to me. But he's 72 (I think) and I'm 63. Who the hell is going to fistfight with old men without looking silly. And old men fighting each other is akin to watching the 3 Stooges at a tea party.

I don't get here as much anymore (wife is pregnant with our first, so there are bigger things to worry about for a while!).

The key is to not take it to personal. Most of us on this board won't ever meet in "real life", and I imagine if we did, we would probably find more to agree on than not.
