was at the range today and was in the kill or cure mode! my 44mag redhawk has never been the best shooter with cast. so i beagled my mold and cast me 24fat soft boolits i rolled them in 400 clover loaded over 4gr 231. at the range i clean the barrel to bare metal loaded the gun then used a quetip to paint the forcing cone with 400 clover fire! then repaint fire repeat to 6 shots then clean did this 4 times for total of 24 shots cleaned then cleaned some more. after all this i shot the best group ever with this gun a 2.25" 25yds 12shot group with ironsights. the next step i am going the try is some .432 boolits wish me luck Clint

I use something different for firelapping, but find the first few shots after lapping to be far less than accurate. YMMV and apparently does. Oh yeah you cleaned multiple times.

What loads are you using that have not successful? Significant variation in powders and powder weights or limited number? Are you pushing it or loading medium power loads?

My Redhawk does ok and my GP-100 will only shoot two loads well out of all I have tried so far.

20 and 21 grains of 2400 have been my most accurate Redhawk load with the 429421 (the least accurate bullet in my gun by the way). 21 grains of 2400 being the best of these.

My groups are better than yours, but I am using a scope so that does not say much about my smaller group.

Are you resting the barrel or crane, and your hands on bags or rest?

I have one bullet that was from a group buy over at Cast Boolits and it will group 1/2 the size of the 429421 in my Redhawk.

All my 44 fodder is sized 0.431"

The RH only likes H110 and you should use a standard primer, not a mag.
I can't get ANY Keith style boolit to shoot from any gun.
I use LBT styles from WLN to WFN.

There are a few that are good. I started with the LBT WLNGC, 320 gr, for deer long ago.
The Lee 310 gr (C430-310-RF) shoots very good.
The RD 265 gr (TLC432-265-RF) is very accurate.
RD no longer sells molds but you might find one from Lee. This one has been averaging 3/4" at 50 yards from my SBH. Marko is shooting it real good from his S&W too.
