I just returned from shooting my lattest big bore revolver which is a freedom arms chambered in the new 500 JRH by Jack Huntington of Grass Valley Ca.My new revolver has a 5 1/2" barrel with barrel band and is the first one that Jack built it was his prototype used in the developement of the 500 JRH.Shooting with the 425 grain factory load as loaded by Buffalo Bore they are claimed 1350fps I cronograph them today at 1400fps. with a high of 1411 and a low of 1399 quite consistant. To say that I am happy would be an understatement.Jack field tested this load on 750 pound Bison and shot the very first animal with the 500 JRH. Jack picked a length wise shot to test the penetration. The bullet penetrated the full length and exited the Buffalo and he only took two steps and collasped.I believe that the 500 JRH combines the best of the 475 and the 500 Linebaugh into one great new cartridge. _____________________________________________________ A 9mm may expand to a larger diameter, but a 45 ain't going to shrink Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing had happened. - Winston Churchill

Congrats on the new pistol, John! Can you tell me how the .500 JRH differs from the .500 Linebaugh? Perhaps you can post a picture of the revolver as I am sure we would all love to see it. The 500 Linebaugh is .510,the 500JRH is .500 really this is the only difference.I have a Custom Dave Clements SBH SW 500 -1.4" case.I think the JRH case length is 1.385" and the rim is a little smaller to fit the FA cylinders,I was going to get 1 made but the only brass I could find was $1.00 each In fact the avatar I use is a picture of the Dave Clements gun I have. All I have to do is cut SW 500 brass to 1.4". Actualy the 500 JRH is a 1.4" case [not 1.385"] with a smaller rim diameter than the 500 smith the 500 Smith rim is too large for the freedom guns but will work in the ruger revolvers _____________________________________________________ A 9mm may expand to a larger diameter, but a 45 ain't going to shrink Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing had happened. - Winston Churchill

Yes I know that. I posted his web site so others could get his phone number or snail mail address. I have spoke with Jack on several occasions and he is very helpful. I have one of his custom guns, a Ruger Super Redhawk 454 Casull the was converted to the Super Streethawk. It has a 3 inch barrel and can shoot 45ACP, 45 Win Mag's with moon clips and also the 45 L/C and or course the 454 Casull. Great work Jack has done. If you're going to make a hole, make it a big one.
