Ok, who has any experience with a 150 grain bullet that will perform at 30 Herrett velocities? 150 Nosler BT, 150 Remington Bronze Point, others???? I am hoping for 2000-2100 fps when all is said and done! What bullet(s), what game, what effect? LouisB ------------------

From a 14" barrel, getting 2000 fps would be a little tough -- but certainly not impossible. A little careful load tinkering should put you in the ballpark. With that being said, the Nosler BT is the most reliable low-velocity expander out there. It WILL expand down to 1650 fps or so. Given 2000 fps for the 150 grainer, the 100 yard velocity will be 1828 fps; it's still moving at 1669 at 200 yards and carries 927 ft. lbs of energy. Personally, I feel the 125 grain BT is the way to go in this caliber. You'll get positive expansion to the limits of the cartridge's effective range. And, at the velocity level you are operating at, you get more than sufficient penetration. The 125 grainer will easily get 2200 fps. At 200 yards, the specs are 1782/882. I personally feel this is a 150 yard cartridge, and out to that range, it performs exceedingly well on deer-sized game.
