Silver or black scope for the SRH?

I'm looking to get a Bushnell 2-6x32 for my Super Redhawk 454. It has the new(?) matte grey stainles look and I'm having a hard Wink time deciding on wether I should get the matte black or the silver scope. I'm leaning towards silver.

What do you think, any sugestions?

Edit: By the way, there is the option to get the "glowing in the dark" crosshair. The scope would primary be used for target practice and load development. Will I benefit in any way to get the firefly reticle?

Scope color is strictly a mattter of personal preference. Either would look good in my opinion. Unless you are going to hunt with the revolver, I question the benefit you would receive from a firefly reticle.

When my 480 SRH was scoped I had a black scope, and didn't have any issues with the color, the grips are black anyhow.

The SRH is ugly, scope color wont' do much to spruce it up anyhow. It does shoot very well though, so I can live with ugly Big Grin

Here is a photo of two different choices you could make.

Personally I like the look of the matte black, but silver may not show scratches as bad as the black.

My personal taste leans strongly towards a black scope for Ruger's "Target Gray" finish. I have a gloss black Leupold on my SRH .454, and it looks like it kinda belongs there because it matches the grips. I have a friend with the same revolver and a silver scope and I just feel that it looks way out of place.

I got hold of a secondhand Leupold 4x gloss black and I must say that it looks quite nice on the Target gray revolver together with the black Hogue grips.

When I get rich Roll Eyes and buy the Bushnell it will defenitly be a black one Big Grin
