Well I traded and got hunting revolver. I got a 9.5" ruger SRH with a 1" ultradot.

I traded for it and got it and was really curious how it would shoot(always wonder why someone gets rid of a gun). I was expecting @ dip can size groups or a bit less at 50 yards. I took it out and shot it at 50 yards off rest with white box 240grSP winchester ammo. NOT GOOD! Like basketball size groups! I also had some 320WFN doubletap that I got to try out of my uncles SBH that I hadnt shot yet. Loaded those up and shot two of them at target and had to go look because I couldnt see then in target. THey were about 10" higher than the 240gr and above paper but they were overlapping!!!! Went back and shot one more and it made group outside to outside slightly less than an inch!!! I adjusted ultradot to center and went home.

The next time out I shot it using chrono and the 320grWFN doubletap ammo averaged 1348FPS over a 6 shot average. I shot another group at 50 yards under 1 center to center" and buddy shot a 1.25" group also. Needless to say I am VERY pleased with the gun!

I let a buddy shoot the gun at 100 yards and he hit like 8" low??? Then he shot at 50 yards and that group was @ 2" higher? I then shot at 50 yards and it hit where it was supposed to. I guess difference in how we hold gun and put it on the rest resulted in different point of impact??? I was also supprised that the drop from 50-100 was only a couple inches, figured it would be more than that.

thanks

Everyone grips their revolver a little differently. That is outstanding accuracy -- I too get great groups from that same Double Tap load. Congratulations! beer

Different firearms like different ammo. I've seen Ruger SBHs not shoot anything sized under 0.432" accurately. Each is a law unto itself.

Congrats and hope you enjoy it.

If ignorance is bliss; there are some blissful sonofaguns around here. We know who you are, so no reason to point yourselves out.
