You tell me
My grips broke on my vaquero bisley,
rather than send the gun in for warranty repair, I asked how much for new "ivory" grips.

$107.50!!!!!!
That's right, I asked if she was saying that with a straight face, and what was the real price

$107.50

I asked if this could be done as warranty work.. yep, send it in (weeks leadstime) and if it's warrenty work, they'll do it for shipping... or

$107.50

I guess i'll just buy some aftermarket stag for
$107.50

and be ahead

That's really weird the Ruger website shows a price increment of JUST $39 for the ivory grips on a KBNV407 .44-40 SSG 7 1/2" 13 1/8" 41 oz $510.00 **With simulated ivory grips, $549.00 shown at: http://www.ruger-firearms.com/rvpages/kbnv407.html

Did this lady indicate why the replacement grips were nearly 4X the option for a new Vaquero ?

All the Vaquero prices showing similar step increments are at http://www.ruger-firearms.com/rvnew.html

Lloyd,
You can get imatation stag, just like the ruger im-ivory and im-buff for about 65 bucks on brownells, but not for the vaquero.

and here's nice stag for under
$107.50

poor people time again, get the material you want to use,get out the old grips and the old dremel and MAKE them.it can`t be that hard and may be something you can be proud of,if not you`ll be like me and have a functional "ugly gun"sometimes the best remedies to high prices are to not pay them.jmho again.
