Just bought a Ruger S/S Single Six. I would like to mount a little 2X Leopold to use with the 22 Magnum. I believe Bomar make a no gunsmithing mount for these. Are they any good or is there a better alternative from another maker?

I can't speak to the Bomar as I haven't used one. Had the Leupold mount on mine for a awhile. This did require drilling and tapping another hole to mount it to though. Also used a 4X Leupold scope for squirrel hunting; wanted better target definition.

had one on a 357 when I briefly owned it. Seemed okay, but didn't shoot it much or with heavy loads. Let me know what you find, I'm thinking of going that route again with 41 mag. I think I reember being concerned with scratcing finish on gun?

If you can't find a Bomar mount you might look at
www.b-square.com they are listing several no gunsmithing mounts available for Ruger Single Six.

Bad, Bomar should be good on a .22. For heavy recoiling guns, I would drill and tap and install a good mount.
