I recently bought a Rock Island 1911 in 10mm. On my Christmas trip to Plano, Tx.,I went to the Cabelas in Allen and bought 5 boxes of the Buffalo Bore 220gr cast bullet load. These are packaged in a lot smaller plastic boxes than the older huge styrofoam boxes of 20 which I had one of already. I hadn't been able to try these as I only had a Glock with it's polygonal rifling. I loaded 5 of the older rounds and shot them from the 1911. I gathered up the brass as it is good Starline. 2 of the cases had the primers completely gone and the other 3 were badly flattened. I live in West Texas so I took the new boxes, receipt, and the evidence to the Cabelas in Lubbock. They flattly refused to take them back. I understand if they refuse to take back normal ammo, but this is clearly defective and dangerous. I've took worse screwings in life, but if someone's pistol blows up in their face and maybe puts their eye out, they can use me for a witness. I know our society has gotten way too litigeous, but sometimes it's the only way to get some prick's attention. I went on Buffalo Bore's websight. There is no contact number, only a way to submit a text message. I haven't heard from them either. I had always liked Cabelas, but maybe the Bass Pro mentality is already sinking in. I'm going to take back to the store I bought them from on my next trip back there. I'm on good terms with the man in charge of their gun library and even ran into him at the Cabelas booth at the DSC show in January. Hopefully, he'll make it good, but he might not have the athority. We'll see.

Most, if not all Ammo dealers make it known Ammo sales are final and no returns are accepted. If ignorance is bliss; there are some blissful sonofaguns around here. We know who you are, so no reason to point yourselves out.

I started out working in the warehouse for a chain of stores. They would take ammo back and we would get it. One box of 12ga #6s had a note attached "Won't kill squirrels". That was many moons ago and I don't know of any retail or online store that will take ammo back, period. If I were you I'd contact Buffalo Bore and see what they say. Usually the ammo manufacturer is willing to make it good if there's a problem. Did you try the newer lot of ammo on your pistol?

I've used that ammo extensively with no problems. Might be a chamber problem. Perry

Call Tim Sundles and talk to him about it. Forget the middleman. "Ignorance you can correct, you can't fix stupid." JWP If stupidity hurt, a lot of people would be walking around screaming. Semper Fidelis "Building Carpal Tunnel one round at a time"

That's what happens when you shoot hot loaded ammo. In some guns it is Ok, in others not so much. Glocks do not have a fully supported case so you need to be a bit careful what you load into it...as Pease River found out. Ain't nobody taking ammo back...to much liability as the store has no idea what a customer has done to the ammo and if it was tampered with and then taken back and resold and someone was injured or killed...it would not be very pretty for the store. Use BB ammo with extreme caution...period! Most of it is VERY hot..but Tim says it's safe in ANY modern gun....I bet Pease River will disagree! Nuff said!!
