I had the NP3 put on a blue Smith Model 19 that had been fairly well mistreated. The result is extremely impressive. I don't see any way on this earth that firearm is going to rust, and that includes me taking it wadefishing in salt water! The only thing you should understand it the coating does not work miracles; if there is pitting on the firearm when they get it, the pitting will be there when you get it back, under the NP3!
The price is not inexpensive, but I believe you will be very satisfied with what Robar does with your revolver, should you opt for the NP3 finish.

I had my 8" Colt Python done in NP3. The original blued finish was really worn in places and since I hunt with this gun I wanted a tough/durable weather resistance finish. I really like it, the color is a darker grey than stainless steel. The finish kinda feels like the inside of a non-stick frying pan. It defineitly cleans up better than any other finish. It is more expensive than many of the other finishes but I feel it is well worth it. I have a Encore muzzleloader barrel refinished by Metalife and they did a good job, and the price was right. However it honestly doesn't compare to NP3. David
