After seeing Kev's pics, I thought I would show off my new 500. Just got it back from Clements yesterday. It's a 5" barrelled 500 Long with color case-hardened frame, hammer, and trigger by Turnbull; and custom walnut grips by Clements.

OHHH, that's gorgeous!!! I wish you lived closer to Idaho, I'd love to shoot it. Maybe I could trade you some range time with my 70 cal Howdah.

Lar45,

What part of Idaho? I'll be in Cody, WY from June 15-22 for John Linebaugh's seminar. I think there are tickets still available. I'd love the chance to drool on your howdah.

Cannon,

I'd be happy to know from you more comments about this gun : finition,fitting,...

Because by the end of this year Dave will build me the same but in .475 long.

Thanks in advance.

BER007,

I'm just about to head out the door for work, but I'll email you the details sometime this evening.

Were you at Cody last summer?

I'm in Pocatello, southeast corner. I'm still deciding on if I'll go or not. I'd like to go but have a pile of stuff to do at home. The basement backed up and flooded, it's in the process of being stripped, sanitized and rebuilt.
I doubt if the Howdah would do well in the penetration test, but it would be fun to try. I bet I'd have the only one there.

BER007,

I've exchanged quite a few emails with your friend in MI, and have shot some of my best groups with his bullets. As a matter of fact, I need to send him some bullets. I'm looking forward to meeting him in Cody. There was a gentleman from Belgium at Cody last year -- that's what lead me to ask.

Send an email to the address in my profile; I'll be happy to answer your questions.

Cannon... I have heard a few good things with Clements, what is your experiance(s) with them? I was thinking of a 475LB or 5 shot 45lc.

smallfry,

This is my first custom gun, so I don't have a lot to compare to, but in looking this gun over, I haven't found much to complain about. It is super tight everywhere. Absolutely no end-to-end play in the cylinder, and I couldn't get a .002" feeler gauge through the barrel/cylinder gap. David was very easy to work with. I emailed him several times with questions and slight changes to the order, and he was always accommodating and quick to reply. If you've got specific questions, feel free to email me at the address in my profile.

Kev,

I thought Clements was making my grips, but apparently he sent them out to Scott Kolar. I pulled the right grip panel off the other night, and it is stamped SK Custom Grips on the back.

I'd really love to go to the seminar, but I may have just spent all my mad money on a new 14mm double pistol that looks almost identical to the 16 bore.
