I have a Stryker .243 win. and am going to be stuck with factory ammo this year. Does anyone have experience with it shooting whitetails? Doe anyone have experience and a favorite factory load. Have you killed deer with it and at what range? Thanks and happy hunting JESS

I bought a striker 243 3 or 4 years ago.Have shot about a dozen deer not including the one my daughter got. I use reloads only so I can't really help you with that question. I use the Hornady 80 gr single shot pistol bullet on all my deer. It opens up really fast but will usually make an exit. If I were stuck with a factory load I would go with a 90-100 gr and try to hit a shoulder. A lung shot will work but you might have to track a ways. My longest shot was just a few days ago at 200 yards. Last year 190. A big bale of hay makes the perfect rest making a 200 yard shot easy. I have busted many pop cans at 200 yards so as long as the deer is standing still 200-250 is not a problem. I am surprised more people don't use the striker pistol. Good luck.

if i were to use factory loads, i'd look at the federal ammo. either the one loaded with sierra's 85gr bthp, or one loaded with the 100gr nosler partition. federal has some good bullets available in their factory ammo.
