I am looking to buy a few molds for my 357, 44 and 45. I would like to get molds in Keith style bullets. Can anyone help me with which ones to buy. I believe a Lyman 429421 is the one for the 44.

Thanks in Advance,

ddj

You are right about the Lyman 429421, however, Elmer specified a square grease groove in his bullets, and Lyman now uses a round grease groove in that mould. The early ones, with the square groove, are seen on ebay, but they get pricey in a hurry.

The same mould in an H&G is the 503, but it is incredibly popular, and people pay astronomical amounts of money for that mould in multiple cavity configurations. You can order the mould from Ballisticast, but it will be over $200, in all likelihood.

The 357 Lyman mould is their 358429, and for the 45 Colt it is 454424, I believe.

And fwiw, my favorite is the 41 Magnum Keith in a Lyman configuration; that mould is 410459, no longer made, and the 41 freaks like I am drive that one through the ceiling as well. The last four cavity mould I bought in that configuration was almost $150...

Good luck searching. If I can help, send me a PM. I have a couple extra moulds in the configuration you are looking for that I could most likely be convinced to let go of...

Check the new 429421, they went back to the square GG's. I heard they did, look at a new catalog.

That would be very good news, BFR... It makes the bullet a bit harder to cast, because it sometimes doesn't drop from the blocks as easily, but it is a better design, as far as I am concerned, and more faithful to the original.
I will try to find out!

No experience with them, but with a good name: try LBT bullet molds. A long way down the list of molds they offer authentic Keith molds.
