Does anyone have a source for information on the U.S. Sporting Arms Seville single-action? (Abilenes & El Dorados as well). I have a couple and was interested in their history, production figures, variants, etc. Thanks, Lee Martin www.singleactions.com

I have two. One is a 4 1/2" 45colt blued with round butt. The other is a Stainless 10 1/2" 357 max with an IMSA logo on it, with all the numbers gold inlaid. The max is an incredible piece. Ultra smooth, impecable finnish, very accurate. I'd like to find more, I've only ever seen these two.

Lee: The two books I told you about in the pm are as follows: "Gun Digest Book of Metallic Silhouette Shooting 2nd edition" "Shooting Steel" Both books make several references to the Seville and it's different chamberings. Shooting Steel is a compilation of articles appearing in IHMSA's regular publication "The Silhouette" and covers the first 10 years (76-86). Appears the makers of the Seville were early supporters of IHMSA in that they produced specialty silhouette pieces in the popular caliber offerings of the day. The Gun Digest book I mentioned has Elgin Gates as it's author. Mr. Gates was the "father" of IHMSA and was one who dealt directly with the people who built the Seville (U.S. Arms?) in developing those specialty silhouette pistols. Neither book gives alot of detailed info. on the Sevilles, but what they do give is interesting. Don't know if that is what you were looking for but if it was me I might try contacting the folks at IHMSA for more info.. Just a thought. Ralph
