I had asked this question in a previous post but without an answer yet ~ any of you T/C fans shoot a 6.5 X 55 Swede ... or have I made a big mistake in buying it for shooting deer in NY?

Not in a T/C but the Swede is a fine deer caliber. Why would you doubt that? It may not be that popular in the US but so what. Go hunting with it and bag a deer, you'll see.

Ah. Now I get to admit my ignorance.

What, please, is 6.5JDJ and what is SSK?

Sorry ~ I'm learning.

Thanks for the reply ~ my doubt came from it not being a caliber that is talked about in circles that I'm familiar with. I based my decision to buy mostly on an article from Field and Stream Field and Stream -- How Swede It Is . My fellow hunting budies had never shot one before and some of them had never heard of it...ergo, my finding this message board and asking the question. Thanks again for your response. I'm looking forward to December's trip.

Go get yourself a 6.5JDJ from SSK. It is a real killer and extremely accurate.
