I am going to have a custom built next year and have had a time picking the caliber I want.I don't feel I need any bigger than my colt, but the bigger ones appeal to me.So I've been harassing a few friends who have the really big bores to let me take them on a test run and see if they are worth the extra money. Thanks to Whitworth, who was nice enough to loan me his 475 Linebaugh,I can tell you what I think.

The friends I hunt with have just started hunting a new property and it's loaded.A biologist has recommended 40 deer be taken to stabilize the herd.So we have been working on it the last week or so.Due to other obligations not as much as I'd like.I have shot a yote, which helps, and today a duck?or maybe boe?I saw 16 deer total picked a larger one out and squeezed the trigger. The deer fell as if struck by lightning. It has knots, black hocks(as if in rut),but female parts. Not sure exactly what it is,but it will eat the same.Estimated weight between 120-130lbs.

One deer and I know I like the BIG ones. The deer was slightly quartering and broke a rib on the on side and exited the ham.If you look at the pick you can see the exit.I understand what all the hype is about Big Grin

.It didn't appear as though the vitals were hit that good, and it fell as if struck by lightning. The rear of the onside lung was hit and it travelled on through the internal organs and out the ham.Not my best but my longest with an ironsighted revolver.I had to dodge an obstacle between the deer and myself and missed my exact mark(the spot I wanted the boolit to go) by 2".Other than the smell I had to deal with,I am jumping

Larry, you got the .475 in your hands, you sighted it in, and took a deer at 100 yards all within hours! Great shooting, my friend! I knew you would like that revolver/caliber!! The .475 has no flies on it, and the jerk on the trigger is pretty damn good! Congratulations! beer

Whitworth, you don't need the little ole 475, because you have the 50 Alaskan. On the other hand Cottonstalk needs a bigger revolver, plus he already has possession
