Hi, I tried to register on smith&wesson forum but somehow they banned all yahoo.com based email addresses so I cannot register/ask on their site.

I am trying to put year of manufacture on my revolvers:

K-38 masterpiece, pre-mod14 5-screw model.
Serial : K 446**, close to K 44700

Model 1955 Target .45ACP/AR model pre-mod25 5-screw model
Serial : S 1603**

Model 686, no dash number
Serial : AUN 16** close to 1700

I hope someone can answer this or help me post this on the smith&wesson forum. Thanks in advance.

1948, 1956-57 and on the L frame probably July 1987. I'm quite sure on the first two but may be off on the L frame as my L frame data is minimal.

Supica & Nahas agree with Frank. The L frame, from the limited info they provide, could be a little earlier than July, but no later.
