I have had this gun in 454casull for close to a year now. It is a pleasant and accurate gun to shoot but has giving me some problems ever since the beginning;

With whatever load, be it factory or light .45LC loads the cases stick in the cylander, which itself slides off the rod when you tap the cases out.
The cylinder also seems to unlock itself and spin without engaging the hammer in double action, you must cock it and fire a shot single action to resolve this problem.

Has anyone else had silimar problems with this gun?

Sounds like you got a real piece of crap! The sticky cylinder could easily be fixed with a little polishing but the other problems, in my oppinion, make this gun unsafe to fire. I would get it to a very competent gunsmith as soon as possible. He might have to send it in for warranty repairs and it might not cost you anything, taurus seems to have decent customer service compared to others.

Later,

Aaron

When I first got my Raging Bull, it had similar sticking problems. The chambers had a large spot just infront of the rear of the cylinder. I sent it back to Taurus, it came back in a couple of weeks and has been fine ever since. While there, they did a complete action job for free, they must have been in a good mood or something. I do sometimes have a problem with the cylinder stop latch moving under recoil, so it won't advance to the next chamber when cocked again, but it only happens when shooting 340gn or larger bullets with top loads. As soon as I get a chance, I'll send it back for that also. Mine seems to be very accurate. I like it. Send your's back and get it fixed. It seems like some people like them and others hate them. Not much inbetween. I liked the looks and feel of them, so I bought one. I'd heard they were weak and would come apart shooting factory loads, so I hot loaded mine on purpose to see, Lifetime Warrenty right?. I loaded some 405's up past 1500fps. The gun is still as tight as can be. The 405's went through the target sideways though, didn't stabilize. It seems to do great with bullets up through 340 gns though. I have a bunch of custom molds on loan from www.mountainmolds.com for testing. I could send you some sample bullets to try if you want. I've gotten 1.4" at 50yds so far.

Lar45, I am having trouble with my e-mail.
It might be better not to bother, I have about 500 cast and the same again jacteted stuff lying about so I can hold out.

Plus if I seend the guns away for reparations I might not have it for a long, long time, knowing how thing go around here.

It is good of you to offer, if you want a few of the Italian cast bullets I'm happy to send you a some to try them.

The are a simple round nose with one groove for lube.

Regards
