I got a pistol from a old friend. It is a Warner Arms Corp.38 smith and wesson revolver. The sight lifts up and the barrel tips forward. To eject the old shells the center of the cylinder pushes out. I don't know much about the gun other than it is not in working order. Should a guy do anything with it?

Other than remove the firing pin and use it as a paperweight?

I don't know about your specific gun. There were many poorly made top break revolvers made in 32 S&W and 38S&W and that gave top break design a bad name. Most likely yours would be best used as a paper weight.

I would probably clean it up as best as I could, and then get a showdow box picture frame to put it in for hanging on the wall for displaying.

I was thinking it was toast. I do like the Idea about cleaning it up and hanging it. I might do that. Thanks, Ron

IF it was mine, I'd have to try and shoot it atleast once. I've heard of some guys shooting cast bullets meant for the 9mm Makarov in the 38 S&W. I think that the loads should just go bang and not try to get any kind of velocity out of it.
You could take it apart, clean everything and see what's not working. Maybe it needs new springs to keep the hand pushing the cylinder or what ever doesn't work.
