Any opinions on the 45 GAP round vs. the ACP?

What does "aquare" mean? I searched the dictionary and the only similar word I coud find was "aquarelle," which means a watercolor done in transparent colors.

Hikerbum is your question specifically about hunting? If not, you might post this on the Pistol Shooting forum. My impression is that it is probably better than the ACP unless you are married to the 230gr. FMJ bullet.

All I can say about the GAP is...why? I have read all the 'reasons' for its design, but still doesn't make sense to me. Same with the 50 GI, as long as we're on the subject.

The reason for the GAP is that the Mod 21 was too big for most people. They couldn't shoot it very well if they can't get their fingers around the big frame and not get the trigger finger cramped up in the process. This follows the 40 reasoning in getting as much power into a 9mm platform as possible.

They bid me take my place
among them in the Halls of Valhalla,

40 GAP is a waste of energy ... if the Glock doesn't fit, don't buy it!

When introduced I didn't understand why on earth you would make a new round to replace but duplicate one of the greatest pistol rounds ever conceived. I came to love the .45acp through personal use and when looking at pistols other than the 1911 (do they exist?) I handled the Glock in 45acp and at once saw why they came up with the GAP. I'm over 6 feet tall and have good sized hands but man that grip was way to big and uncomfortable. In my mind the round serves purpose in only one weapon and is unnessesary in almost all others.
