I shot some 255 grain semi wadcutters in my new Ruger today using Hodgdon Trailboss. Results with federal large pistol primers were: 5 grains 671 616 656 630 6.5 grains 784 789 773 7 grains 808 812 816 7.5 grains 850 830 851 8 grains 899 874 8.5 grains 931 921 939 ------------------ With federal large pistol mag primers: 7 grains 787 784 811 --------- A 250 grain factory flat tip round nose lead Rem load I had went 857 fps. I really like these loads in that pistol. I plan on loading a bunch of the 5 grain and 8.5 grain loads. The 5 grainers for plinking and the 8.5's for Whitetail does. -------------------- THANOS WAS RIGHT!

Notice what happens with too much primer pressure? You were moving the boolit out of the brass before full ignition.
