I was about to order some 454 casull brass and noticed that starline brass was considerably cheaper than Hornady and Winchester. Has any one had any problems or anything else with the Starline brass? Thanks!

I've used Starline .445 SuperMag brass and I think it's fine. I did have one small strange problem that I think could have happened with any brand.

A batch of new brass was processed and loaded with a load I had already developed. Initial firings were fine, but later firings showed high pressures.

Pulling down the ammo showed the proper amount and type of powder, and the right bullet, but the bullets were "bonded" to the interior of the case necks as if they had been brazed. I later found out it was a sort of galvanic reaction caused by the close contact of unlike metals of the jacket and case. In short, the new cases and bullets were "too clean" and welded themselves together over time.

I started skipping the last cleaning step after initial processing and they've been fine. Once fired, there is enough residue in the case mouth to prevent future problems.

I've used starline 445 supermag with good luck, but the starline 32-20 stuff I had was junk, maybe just a bad lot, but they all pretty much failed or split after second reload. I usually get 5 or 6 from winchester.

I use 45 super Starline brass in my Springfield,s-st 5in. Converted to 45 Super with the heaiver spring and a pretty stout load. Primer pockets stay good and tight. Have used Winchester brass in my 44mag with good results and a good # of reloadings.

I use Starline in my 454 Casull with great results. I get at least 4 hot loadings out of each piece. I have had only one problem, a stuck case, and I'm not sure what the cause was. I've shot over 2000 rounds of 454 Casull through Starline.

Can't tell you about Hornady Brass in the 454. I've never had any reason to try it.
