bfrshooter; I am normally not one to demean what someone else has posted. I always look at someones "opinion", or claims, as just that...I consider what they say...take the good, and leave the bad, and am much better informed because of that. With that being said, I have a hint...and I will remind you that it is only a hint, that your last post may be "in jest"? I am not accusing you of telling a tall tale, or an outright lie, and, I dont expect you to retaliate in kind, but, I think that your claims are a bit...shall we say...out of the ordinary.....

You should see the tools I need to use to get all that stuff in a .22 boolit!

flat topbfr; I can only imagine!
Our "magic" bullet (and again I will say here that it is NOT magic), is simply cast...just like a lead bullet. The real issue with the alloy that we use is that it is very dangerous to work with...so much so, that I have not cast any of these in years. I have the "one" that you saw a photo of as a keepsake. It did perform extremely well. I am sure that technology will advance what we have done with this alloy, unfortunately it will most likely take a ban on lead to do it, and that will only happen long after all of us have left this earth. I expect no drastic changes in the composition of bullet alloys for a long time.
Well, I am sure that you have more tools to make for your reloading endeavors, so, I will leave you be.

bfrshooterWheel weights are poisoning the earth and there should be tons along roads. I took a pail expecting to get more then I could carry but after years and years, I found ONE in a parking lot after an accident.
I have been driving since I was 16 and never lost a weight so just where are all of those things?
Those Kalifornia birds cams and ate them, that's where they went! They can only fly a foot off the ground they are so heavy!

21 December 2010, 22:14
flat topI always went down to the local tire shop and they gave me buckets full. I must have about a thousand pounds of wheel weights...and 100 pounds of pure lead. Due to time considerations, I do not cast anymore...use Beartooth Bullets exclusively, but, I figure that some day I may need that lead, so it is stored in a nice safe place where you cannot find it!!!

Yeah and I guess as long as the bullet is going 1,350 it'll be a killer......

flat topWhit; you bring up an excellent point that jwp has seemed to overlook....the magic velocity for foam...I wonder if a foam bullet at the magic velocity would have the same effects as a wide meplat cast bullet? Now you have me thinking....we need to have bfr make you up some wide meplat foam bullets...test them and report your findings!!!

WhitworthGreat idea -- I would also likle to try epoxy! And maybe paper mache.......

bfrshooterMERCURY! Need to make boolits from that. Unlimited meplats.
Naw, someone would complain about the liquid nitrogen holster!

Maybe compress the tough nasty meat from a big old buck. Must be some use for the junk.
Darn, just found some Duracell batteries---perfect meplats! That ought to give deer a charge.

flat topWhit & bfr; Spitballs!!!!! If you find the magic velocity for spitballs, I think that you may have a real winner!!!! Just think about that for a moment....500 caliber spitballs...deadly!!!! I am sure you would agree!!!!

flat topWhit; that was the exact number that I had in mind, but, I am sure JWP would agree that they would have to be wide meplat spitballs to get the job done!

You are creating more problems!

What paper? Can it have ink on it? Is there a difference between tissue paper and newspaper? Does toilet paper have to be used or new?
What do you drink first, water or Jack? Will Scotch change POI?
Do you squeeze out excess spit?
Why do you create so many problems?

24 December 2010, 19:20
flat topbfr; As usual, you are creating a commotion over "specifics"....why comlicate the matter....keep it simple. Shooting "anything" is easy if you just quit thinking about it...and shoot!!!!

bfrshooterYou are right but I might need load info. I found some silver oxide watch batteries that are just right. I can stack them so maybe four holes per shot but how much Bullseye would I need? I was thinking 40 to 50 gr!

flat topbfr; In spite of our huge differences in what the "right" load is....MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!
What you will have there is a "Quadplex" load...problem is the BC and the SD of watch batteries is pretty poor, but, as a close up elephant load, I just think you may be on to something!!!! You need to give that a try!!!! I will be waiting with baited breath to hear of your results!!!

Hope that you and yours have a safe, happy, and prosperous new year!
