The star seems to miss some of the cases on occasion -- more often if I don't manage to push the ejector smartly. Is this just an inherent problem w. the caliber? It does seem to have a small rim, relative to other revolver calibers. I've been considering have a moonclip conversion done to it, to avoid this problem. I have had 6 S&W 500 Mag's, and that was never a problem in any of them. As others have said, send it back to S&W. If you're going to make a hole, make it a big one. Does it make any difference what brand of brass you are using?

I would think not, I have used, Hornady, Cor-bon, Starline and Jamison Int. and all extracted fine. If you're going to make a hole, make it a big one. ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ Member of the Delaware Destroyers Member Reeders Misfits NRA Life Member ENDOWMENT MEMBER NAHC Life Member DSA Life Member

Check if this happens with all brands of brass or just with only one brand, otherwise send it to repairing center to replace the ejector, this never happens on mine, just double shoots !!! Good Luck!!! "Every ignored reallity prepares its revenge!"
