I was shooting at the indoor range the other day, I was shooting my BFR in 500 Mag, my 4 inch 500 Mag and my OTT Encore 8 inch 500 Mag.

I looked back to check the time and I had an audience watching me shoot the 500 Mags. Almost every time I go to the range, someone will come up to me to see what I am shooting. To me it is just another day at the range, to others they must think I am nuts.

If you're going to make a hole, make it a big one.

That's gotta hurt! I wonder if he is shooting full-tilt loads in it......

I too get people stopping and watching when the big handguns come out. They usually don't shoot while you are shooting when they are next to you! Big Grin

One of the more unusual reactions on the range was when I shot a 338wm w/muzzlebrake. The car alarms in the parking lot behind us were activating. After owners come back from chkg out their property, they still gave condemning suspicious looks as they still felt that somehow I was shooting at their vehicles.

Some people's children.

If ignorance is bliss; there are some blissful sonofaguns around here. We know who you are, so no reason to point yourselves out.

Stranger things have happened at our local ranges. One was when there was a lone shooter downrange chkg his target and a perp having climb the fence from the hwy side was taking/stealing the members property from the bench.

The perp shot the range member and was in turn shot himself and made a getaway via the adjacent hwy.

Happened by myself after the sheriffs arrived but before the ambulance.

A week later the perp reported to the hosp for treatment ~ but too late.

I would think that a range would be the last place a thief would want to ply his trade -- all the patrons are armed! Big Grin

Wow, That 458 Lott is a whole Lott-a Gun.
“Must have been made for stopping tanksâ€
BOOM

I was at the public range and one time a guy shooting a muzzle loader forgot to take the rod out and shot it down range. He fell of the bench and said Damm that’s the second time I did that in two weeks.

I packed it up.
