I have Cast Performance 335gr and 370gr. gas check bullets. New Shooting star brass, and CCI sr Mag primers. For powder, I have W296, AA#9, and 2400. Cast performance starting loads for the 335Gr. is 23gr of 296. It just didn't seem that zippy to me. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks! Lt. Robert J. Hi These are the loads I found using W296. 335grn Hardcast W296 27grn cci primer 1395fps 370 grn hardcast W296 24 grn cci primer 1350 fps Using H110 you will get the following: 335 grn H110 32grn 1626fps 370 grn H110 27grn 1500fps These loads will get your attention.I dont take any responsibility if you use these loads. This will hopefully give you a measure of what is out there for this weight class bullets. Hope it helps Johan | |||

Johan, thanks for the tips! I have shot a lot of "hot" .357 and .45acp out of light weight guns, so I was surprised at the moderate recoil of the .454 with the heavy bullets.(I've heard it described from "brutal" all the way up to "sadistic") I'll start bumping my charges up (slowly of course) Lt. Hi Acsteele My Raging Bull does not recoil as a Ruger or Freedom Arms in the same caliber. The ports and the grips really softens the blow compared to the other guns. My brothers Taurus m44 ,4 inch barrel with hot 240 grn reloads hurts my hands more than my raging bull ,just shows how we percieve recoil. Enjoy the round ,your gun and what you do with it.
