biga, my 26th Edition Hodgdon Data Manual lists data for Blue Dot. With 185gr. Hacketed Bullets the starting load is 9.0grs. - 892 FPS - 12600 CUP, and the max load is 9.5grs. - 949 FPS - 14800 CUP. In a Smith & Wesson Model 645 (modified with a extra power recoil spring I got from Ace Hindman) I worked my way up to 1160 FPS with 185gr. Nosler Jacketed Hollow Points. This load was very accurate in this handgun, and quite effective. For 200gr. Jacketed Bullets the #26 Edition Hodgdon Data Manual lists a starting load 8.5grs. - 880 FPS - 14000 CUP and a max load 9.0grs. - 904 FPS - 15800 CUP Also in the same #26th Edition Hodgdon Data Manual they list +P Loads for the .45 ACP. 185gr. HS6 = 10.0grs. - 1162 FPS - 19900 CUP HP38 = 6.6grs. - 1143 FPS - 19500 CUP 200gr. HS6 = 9.7grs. - 1056 FPS - 19500 CUP HP38 = 6.4grs. - 1049 FPS - 19300 CUP The late Dean Grennel and Ace Hindman always recommended the use of Hodgdon HS6, and 185gr. Nosler Jacketed Hollow Points for +P Loads as they said these components were much more consistant in pressure than anything else they had ever used. SD Handgunner | ||
