Just out of curiosity, would any of you that hunt with a revolver or an auto hunt pigs on a ranch that restricts you to no more than 3 rounds total in your weapon?

I was reading the fine print about Independence Ranch in Texas. Not only are the hidden fees insane, but they limit you to no more than three rounds in any weapon or magazine regardless of capacity.

No wonder they are "Over run with hogs"

Absolutely. However the $50 plus $1/lb over 50for cleaning seems kind of steep. I'd use a 10mm and carry a couple of extra mags loaded with 3 rounds, and, maybe, just possibly, a fully loaded one as a back up. Wink

$50 + $1/lb over 50 for cleaning? Seriously?

A 200# pig would be $200 just for cleaning?

Strikes me tha they have a lot of small pigs on the property...

Robert

There are plenty of places to hunt hogs without restrictions and high prices.
Let this place stay "overrun".

If they charge to hunt hogs they are not worried about being over run with them no matter how much they complain about them if they do.

I agree, the place has a bad smell. It's not like there's a shortage of hunting ranches in Texas. Find one who welcomes your style of hunting.

Three round limit? Piss on them!! There are far too many places to hunt that anyone should have to tolerate, much less hunt, under such conditions.

Some of these ranches in Texas have ridiculous fees. Many of them that are overrun with hogs won't allow any hunting at all. As far as I'm concerned they can keep their hogs.

"overrun", from the Webster Brewster dictionary-
:door of the hog barn often left open, allowing the shoats free rein to come, or go, as they please:

It's my hunt that I am paying for and I'll decide how many rounds I load. Not some one that I'm paying. That is totally ridiculous in my opinion.

I hunted on an Oklahoma ranch that allowed two shells period, in the gun and or in your pocket. I was using a single shot 50-70 so not a huge deal. Others in my group used AR 15s. They might have had a few extra shells in their pocket.
Owner said the policy was to reduce multiple shots that wounded pigs that are not recovered.
