Everyone may already know of this site, but I was just messing around and stumbled onto it. Has info on virtually EVERYTHING you could want to know about the 1911 Pistols, care and feeding and all product makers. Ck it out. http://www.m1911.org/m1911dt.htm

Thanks for the info. After years of shooting shotguns, I inherited a 1911 and am getting interested in shooting it. I just bought an OM .45 Colt, too and hope to find a .45 ACP cyl. to go with it. I'm also getting set up to cast bullets and looking forward to rolling my own. You've been a big help. Have you checked out the Ruger Forum? It loads a little slow but there is lots of good dope there. http://www.rugerforum.com/cgi-bin/cgiwrap/rugerforum//Ultimate.cgi?action=intro&BypassCookie=true

If you don't have any luck locating a 45 ACP cylinder on the used market, see if you can get Ruger to install a new one on your OM.

Big John - After casting bullets for the first 40 years of my 45 years worth of reloading, it has reached the point where A. I don't have time to do it anymore. And B. I can buy better cast bullets than I can make anyway! I recommend Leadheads. He has done well by me with super bullets. I received them three days after ordering. Suggest you check it out. http://www.proshootpro.com/freebullets.htm He has some beautiful PB cast bullets for the 45 Colt. [ 08-08-2003, 06:11: Message edited by: Pecos45 ]
