255 grain LBT bullets in the .44 mag?
I bought some of the LBT wide meplat bullets for my 6" M29. With 2400 I get near 1400 fps with very good accuracy. I "helped out" a friend the other day and plunked one into the ribs of a decent sized elk he had wounded. The results were an in and out wound through the ribs, catching both lungs. Down he went. So now I know that at 50 yds they will work on an elk if broadside.
Anyone have any input on these bullets??

I'm also thinking of getting one of the S&W Stealth Hunters, 7 1/2" barrel, with the Birdsong green/black finish. My old M29 isn't going to survive a steady diet of these 255's at 1400 fps.
Anyone have any experience with the Stealth Hunter??

This is one of my favorite 44 bullets. I have found best accuracy at to end speeds also. I use H110. Lots of speed with a big splat! I have got better accuracy with this than with the 300 LFN style. Have fun.

Don't know if this will help but a #429421 cast with wheel weights and a little tin will go right thru a steel belted radial(both sides tread to tread) at 65 yards. A 12" cottonwood won't hold it at 25 yards. Don't think an elk at 50 yards will stop any good cast bullet. FWIW Dan
