was wondering how to achieve better sights on the blackhawk. i have a hard time discerning the front sight versus the rear sight , need to do something with the front so it stands out and is more accurate sight picture. what about a bead and a new rear leaf. any ideas............

You may try a rear sight from Bowen Classic Arms by Hamilton Bowen. I just purchased and installed on on a Bisley 45 LC. Simple instal. The rear blade is entirely flat like a Bo-Mar or Millet target sight. Runs $65 plus S+H. Worth it I think. I think people that talk about 1" groups for a full cylinder at 25 yards are full of sh@t, but I shot one yesterday that is real close......one hole

I just got a Reeder Blackhawk back from him. Had him install a Freedom Arms front sight base and blade. This makes the front sight blade interchaneable. You can get the express type bead as well. The rear sight blade is also interchangeable. He installed a white outline rear blade. These are OK, but on the little 4 5/8 barrel the front and rear sights are like bricks, very square, but chunky.

Also, on your Pearce load data. I don't know which Handloader it was...because I cut it out and have it in my load data collection. It's a pain in the ass, but if it means that much to you, I can copy it and snail mail it to you.

I can tell you his loads are HOT!!!!

I'll second the bowen rear sight, I have one on my 45 ruger bisley installed by D.Clements along with one of his own tall front post blades. I really like the combination. I can email a photo if you like.

What's the website address for Bowen? I'd like to see the sight he offers.
